Computer Programs Help uncover Ancient Documents




Often important documents archaeological difficult to learn because it had rotted with age. We have a computer program to make it easier to read and archive old documents is being developed.

Computer program was developed by a joint team of computer experts and historians in the Ben-Gurion University. The hope, the program can then be used to determine the authenticity of documents through a process called writer identification.

"We are developing a technology to improve the display so that the document easier to read and facilitate the archiving," El-Sana said one computer expert who was involved in the project, as quoted from Newsyahoo, Friday (4/9/2009).

The more documents that could didigitalisasi, the more efficient use of time to study the contents of these ancient documents.

The researchers hope to develop a system where experts can trace the history of the image of a document to find the word they are looking for. The researchers have been struggling with a lot of Arabic text and Jews.

Based on open source program is expected to be available for download within a period of three years to come. Now the experts was perfect pattern in the program algorithm. (Source: Detiknet)
