Microsoft can breathe a little. Successful because they appeal so covered do not have to stop selling the software Word though still only for a while.
As is known, Texas court ordered Microsoft to stop selling Word within 60 days. This is because the software is considered to violate patents owned by a company called i4u.
Microsoft appeals to fruition so that the U.S. appeals court agreed to delay the Texas court's decision. Word command not stop the sale will be conducted before any decision in the appeals process. The argument appeals regarding this case will be held on September 23 in Washington.
"We are pleased with the results and prepared to present the main issues of this case on September 23," said Kevin Kutz, a spokesman for Microsoft as quoted by Bloomberg, Friday (4/9/2009).
Based on the Texas court's decision, Microsoft really is in the October 10 deadline to redesign the software for Word, or to stop the sale. But thanks to the success of that appeal, this decision was postponed for a while.
